Daily Itinerary

Day 1:  Home City ✈️ Taiyuan, China

Fly to Taiyuan, China. The local guide will meet and greet all guests from 16:00 – 23:00. At 19:00 and 23:00, the transfer is arranged to take guests to the hotel. Guests who arrive before or after, kindly arrange your own transfer. No meal provided today.

Day 2: Taiyuan – Datong
After breakfast, coach to Datong to visit the Yungang Grottoes. The Yungang Grottoes has survived more than 1500 years. It was one of the largest caves and was also known as China’s four grottoes art treasure. The grottoes stretch for a whole kilometer from east to west. Many of the carvings combine traditional Chinese art forms with foreign influences to create a unique style that occupies an important position in the history of Chinese art. Then, coach to the Nine-Dragon Screen, the largest screen of its type in China, which is 45.5 meters(150 feet) long,8 meters(26 feet) high and 2.02(6.6 feet) meters thick and consists of 426 pieces of glazed tiles. Day 3: Datong – Mt. Wutai
In the morning, coach to Hanging Temple, located at the foot of Mt. Hengshan. Surviving more than 1400 years, hanging temples that mix mechanics, aesthetics, and Buddhism are rare. After lunch, we will visit Mount Wutai. Legend says that a manjusri (Bodhisattva of wisdom) visited Mt. Wutai and decided to stay. In addition to its religious aspects, the beauty of rising and falling ridges of mountains, exotic rocks, crystalline waters and towering green forests also gives Mt. Wutai its reputation as a colorful and notable tourist resort. After, visit Xiantong Temple, one of the oldest and most prestigious temples in the mountain. Then, pay a visit to Wan Fo Ge, so called Wuye Temple, which is a very popular temple in Mt. Wutai. Many visitors come every year to pray for the happiness. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Mt. Wutai – Pingyao 
After breakfast, coach to Pingyao to visit the Pingyao Ancient City. (Ride battery cars to the city) With over 2700 years of history, it is also an outstanding model of the Han nationality in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Due to the preservation of architecture built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the city was listed as a world cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. The ancient Ming and Qing streets are the best places to explore ancient Chinese culture. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Pingyao – Lingshi
In the morning, coach to visit the Wang’s Compound, built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The building extended over an area of 31,956 square meters (7.9 acres), four times the size of the Qiao Compand. The compound is the epitome of Oriental domestic architecture. Today, enjoy the stay at Chongning Castle Hot Spring Grand Hotel. (B/L)

Day 6: Linshi – Hukou
After breakfast, coach to visit the Hukou Waterfall, the largest waterfall in the Yellow River. The water surface of the Yellow River is 300 meters wide at the upper reaches of the waterfall.(B/L/D)

Day 7: Hukou – Huangdiling – Xian
After breakfast, head to the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, the burial site of the legendary Yellow Emperor of China and an important ancient grave site in China. After many years of development and construction, it became not only a mausoleum but a key point of interest for historical Chinese culture. The main sights in this scenic spot are the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor and the Xuanyuan Temple. (B/L)

Day 8: Xian 
After breakfast, visit Shaanxi History Museum. Enjoy a tour of the ancient city including the Shu Yuan Men Culture Street. Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. As the symbol of the old-line Xian, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Pagoda) is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. (B/L)

Day 9: Xian 
We will have a half day visit to the Terra-cotta Warriors & Horses, the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Then, pay a visit to the Terra-cotta Figure Workshop en route. This afternoon, proceed to see the Xi’an City Wall, which has more than 500 years history and was built in Ming dynasty. (B/L)

Day 10: Xian ✈️ Home City
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home or plan the rest of the day on your own. (The shuttle to the airport departs at 9 am in the morning. (B)
