Day1

Home City ✈ Munich

Depart home city to Munich, the third-largest city in Germany.

Day2

Munich

Germany, though an industrial center in Europe, offers a wide range of romantic spots and fairytale-like landscapes. Afternoon brief city tour will take you to the Olympic, home to the 1972 Summer Olympic Games, to admire its unique tent-like constructions of Plexiglass and steel as well as its design. (D)

Day3

Munich ~ Prien am Chiemsee ~ Bad Reichenhall

After morning visit to the BMW Museum, proceed by coach to Prien am Chiemsee, a small town by the Lake Chiemsee. We then board a boat to the island Herreninsel where the charming Herrenchiemsee castle was built by King Ludwig II, based on the model of Versailles in Paris. Late afternoons arrive at Bad Reichenhall for overnight.   (B/L/D)

Day4

Konigssee ~ Berchtesgaden ~ Obersalzberg

Morning drive to Konigssee for its fantastic view, and then take a boat to reach St Bartholomew’s Church, a must-see site. The Church’s baroque-style exterior with two iconic red onion domes makes it exceptionally unique and fascinating.  Then continue to Eagle Nest in Obersalzberg , which was brilliantly built to celebrate Hitler’s 50th birthday in 1939. You will be directed to a shuttle bus and elevator ride up to the top of Mt Kehlstein where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Bavarian Alps (if unavailable, replacement to visit the salt mine in Berchtesgaden). Return to Bad Reichenhall for overnight.            (B/D)

Day5

Bad Reichenhall ~ Garmish- Partenkirchen ~ Eibsee ~ Fussen

All will head for Fussen in the morning with an enroute stop at Garmich-Partenkirchen. Take the rack rail and glacier cable car to the peak of Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany, to appreciate the panoramic view of the Alps. Then, take the cable car again to descend to the bottom of Zugspitze where lies a beautiful and peaceful lake, Eibsee. An unforgettable Journey is to stroll along the shores of the lake. Continue to Fussen for a brief city tour and overnight. (B/L/D)

Day6

Fussen ~ Neuschwanstein castle ~ Titisee

The Neuschwanstein castle was built by King Ludwig II in 19th century on a rugged hill near Fussen and Disney’s castle had copied its exterior outlook. A guided tour to visit its inside chambers is arranged. (Subject the Castle’s schedule with no replacement). Afterwards, all will proceed to Titisee, a lake in the southern Black Forest, to enjoy the unforgettable scenery.             (B/D)

Day7

Titisee ~ Stuttgart ~ Heidelberg

To-day, returning to city for sightseeing in Stuttgart, we can visit the all-new Mercedes Benz Museum showing the company’s history of over 100 years. Continue to Heidelberg where the picturesque sites inspired the poets and artists of romanticism. Heidelberg Castle, a ruin and landmark, is a combination of several buildings surrounding a central courtyard. A fascinating walk to visit the Apothecary Museum and the Heidelberg Tun, an extremely large wine vat, is arranged.                      (B/D)

Day8

Heidelberg ~ Wiesbaden ~ Sankt Goar  🚢 Boppard ~ Bad Homburg

Proceed to Wiesbaden, one of the oldest spa towns in Europe. Upon arrival, first to see is the Marktkirche, the main church in town, then the spa house, Kurhaus and finally the Wiesbaden City Palace. Continue to the Sankt Goar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. We will admire the famous Lorelei Rock before taking boat trip from Sant Goar to Boppard along the Rhine River. Once ashore, we stop to sample the local wine in a local tavern. Drive to Bad Homburg also a spa town. A visit to the park, Kurpark Bad Homburg, is an amazing experience resulted from its unique spa culture.  (B/L/D)

Day9

Bad Homburg ~ Bamberg ~ Wurzburg

Germany really is a fairytale land. The Grimm Brothers collected lots of folk tales, inspired by their surrounding places, and weaved them into tales. One of the fairytale destinations is Bamberg, one of the World’s Heritage sites. Highlights of the city tour include the Old Town Hall decorated with colorful wall paintings; the magnificent Bamberg Cathedral filled with radiance of the past. Other historic sites like, the Old Court, New Residence and the Museum will make visits, too. Continue to Wurzburg. The Residenz is a palace in Baroque Architecture, registered under UNESCO. We will visit its university museum and the lovely Court Garden. Then onto the Wurzburg Cathedral and the Old Main Bridge for a fantastic view of the city and vineyards. (B/D)

Day10

Wurzburg ~ (Romantic Road) Rothenburg ~ Nuremberg

Take the Romantic Road to Rothenburg with scenic spots looming one after another. Walking through the Rothenburg is like travelling back to a fairytale village, even today. As one of Germany’s best-preserved Old Towns, we appreciate for its surrounded defensive Town Walls and admire the Rathaus, the Town Hall of Rothenburg with mixed Gothic and Renaissance structures after a fire to rebuild. Next will be St James church which contains the famous Holy Blood altarpiece. Final stop at the Plonlein is the iconic and picturesque part of this fairytale-like town which inspired animated Disney film – Pinocchio. Heading for Nuremberg to admire it’s Imperial Castle which was the residence of all legitimate German kings and emperors. Then, we enjoy a fun walking tour of the Hauptmarkt, a charming market in Old Town. A photo stop at the Church of Our Lady, is a must-see landmark.   (B/D)
